This guy checked one can of beer for his flight, and we don’t know what to make of it

The restrictions that come with flying sometimes put travelers in a serious bind, forcing them to make crucial last-minute decisions that could make the difference between their trip going smoothly or quickly veering toward disaster. We can only assume that’s what prompted a guy to check one can of beer for his flight.

According to The Daily Dot, a Qantas passenger flying from Melbourne to Perth decided to laugh in the face of the airline’s pesky liquid rules by checking a single can of Emu beer.

So, does this count as a seriously genius travel hack or nah? Well, the airline doesn’t charge for the first piece of checked luggage, so we’d say yes, although it really depends on how much you love beer.

Fellow passengers captured the lone can of beer in a bin on its way to join all the other checked items, and the footage is unbelievable.

In case anyone had doubts about the beer surviving the checking process and the trip, another passenger posted video of the well-traveled beverage in the baggage reclaim area.

Apparently, the can arrived intact, with no signs of denting or tampering at the hands of a thirsty employee.

The owner of the most famous can of beer in the world prefers to remain anonymous, but he did admit to Daily Mail Australia that he was surprised that the beer stunt that began as a joke between friends actually worked.

“My mate works at the airport and we hatched the plan as a laugh—I half didn’t expect it to come out the other end,” he said. “But when it did it was sent out well in front of all the other luggage, so the baggage handlers obviously appreciated it.”
