Oh my Groot! There will be more from the Guardians of the Galaxy after “Avengers 4”

Ready for more Groot?! Of course, you are! And luckily, Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn confirmed that we’ll be getting more Guardians after the fourth, untitled Avengers film. Yes, this is pretty far down the line — but still, this is worthy of a celebration.

So, let’s all do an adorable Groot dance right now!

Gunn’s confirmation arrives after mumblings that the Marvel Cinematic Universe would completely reboot after Avengers 4. It means you need not freak out…quite yet. That’s because Gunn’s tweet reveals that the Guardians, at least, will still be around after Avengers 4.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe announced films through an untitled Spider-Man sequel that will hit theaters in July 2019. Guardians of the Galaxy 3 has been announced as well, but the release date has yet to be revealed. And now Gunn says it will take place sometime after Avengers 4.

So it looks like we’ll have our buddy Groot (and everyone else!) in our lives for the foreseeable future. But of course, we don’t know exactly where the Guardians will be after Avengers 4. Will they still be the same team we have now? Will Groot be a teenager, or will he be back to adult status?! (These are the questions that keep us up at night…)

Gunn is still working on the story for the film, so we have plenty of time for speculation.

Plus, there are about seven more Marvel Cinematic Universe films including two Avengers films ahead to keep us busy. Honestly, how lucky we are to be moviegoers right now?!
