The new “Guardians of the Galaxy” trailer proves that Baby Groot is the cutest thing in the universe

We are geeking out, because a new Guardians of the Galaxy trailer is finally here!

The new Guardians of the Galaxy trailer shows Baby Groot and man, is he the cutest thing in the universe. Okay, maybe not the cutest thing ever, but the character is totally adorable.

On Saturday, James Gunn revealed the second trailer for the Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 at Comic Con in São Paulo, Brazil and it didn’t disappoint.

The beginning of the trailer gives off a sense of impending doom as the voice over says, "The fate of the universe lies on your shoulders."

As pieces of the galaxy are flying and fight sequences begin, Rocket tries teaching Baby Groot an important lesson: don’t blow them up.

"I am Groot. I am Groot," the cute creature says over and over again as he points to the one button Rocket told him NOT to push.

We know he should be listening and not accidentally killing everyone by pressing a red button, but he’s so tiny and adorable and we can’t stop smiling as we look at him.

Next we get reintroduced to all of the main characters including, Star-Lord, Gamora (Zoe Saldana), Drax (Dave Bautista), Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Baby Groot (Vin Diesel) as fight scenes are shown in between each shot. There is a LOT of action and a lot of Baby Groot, which is just the way we want it.

The bantering between Rocket and Star-Lord as they fight over tape to mark the “do not touch” button seems just as good as ever; it was great feeling completely back in the GotG groove again immediately.

There’s lots of other awesome stuff going on, including a cameo from Mantis, who we are so looking forward to meeting. But we gotta give this one to Baby Groot, guys, he just steals the show (and, it turns out, the bomb.)
