Not one but TWO doctors aren’t returning for “Grey’s Anatomy” Season 14
Time to put away another white coat, Grey’s Anatomy fans. TVLine is reporting that Dr. Eliza Minnick has officially said her goodbyes to Grey Sloan Memorial.
The news — though sad — is actually not alllll that surprising because Minnick (played by Marika Dominczyk) was fired from the hospital at the end of Season 13 by Dr. Miranda Bailey. This ALSO means that Minnick is leaving behind her love interest, Dr. Arizona Robbins.
There are going to be a few more shake-ups happening over in Seattle.
We already know that Dr. Stephanie Edwards (Jerrika Hinton) won’t be back for Season 14, and we’re so sad to see her go! Not to mention, Owen Hunt’s sister Megan has been recast. Abigail Spencer is taking over the role previously played by Bridget Regan.
"Actors evolve differently and when an actor like Jerrika comes to me and says she wants to try something new creatively, I like to honor that," creator Shonda Rhimes said in a statement about Hinton. "Jerrika has shared so much of herself with Stephanie and I am incredibly proud of the journey we’ve taken together. While I’m sad to see Stephanie leave Grey Sloan Memorial Hospital, I am excited to see what’s next for Jerrika.
We totally understand! PLUS, with all these sad goodbyes, come so many new beginnings.
Like, Italian actress Stefania Spampinato is coming on-board to play the sister of Andrew DeLuca (Giacomo Gianniotti), Entertainment Weekly reported. And that’ll cause some draaaama for DeLuca.
“This year, we’re going to definitely have DeLuca’s character a little more fleshed out with the arrival of his sister from Italy, Gianniotti said. “We’re going to see a new dynamic in the hospital as his sister arrives, and it’s not exactly good news; he’s frustrated by it.
We can’t WAIT to head back to Grey Sloan on September 28th for Grey’s Anatomy Season 14.
