This 87-year-old grandmother performing her high school cheerleading routine is the only thing you need to watch today
Age ain’t nothin’ but a number – and this Texas grandmother proved it when she performed her high school cheerleading routine at 87-years-old.
Lura Adkisson, of Abiline, Texas, still has her high school cheerleading uniform from 1942. Some 74 years later, she donned the uniform again to share the routine with her family.
"I remember looking at those handsome boys," Adkisson recalled of her high school days. "They sure were handsome in their football suits."
Adkisson’s daughter, Kimberly Davison, said she decided to record her grandmother’s cheer to preserve some precious memories.
"I thought, 'Someday, I'm going to look back and wish I had recorded that,'" Davison said. "It was a spur of the moment thing, and I asked her to do the cheer for us."
Adkisson remembered every word to the 74-year-old cheer, waving her arms up in the air like she did in the good old days. She’s living proof it’s never too late to cheer for your favorite team.
