Game of Thrones‘s Battle of Winterfell episode just set this new TV record, and tbh, we’re not surprised
It’s been two days since Game of Thrones aired its third episode of Season 8, titled “The Long Night,” and we’re still reading about it on Twitter. The memes are funnier than ever, the fan reactions are intense, and, really, there’s no way we’re getting over the Battle of Winterfell any time soon. In fact, according to Variety, GoT just set a world record with its most recent episode: “The Long Night” is officially the most tweeted-about television episode of all time, with more than 7.8 million tweets (and counting).
The April 28th episode entailed a 67-minute battle scene (the longest in television history) almost entirely set in the dark. And in classic GoT fashion, the creators had no qualms killing off some of our favorite characters—though, thankfully, not as many as we originally imagined.

Variety reports that since the first Season 8 episode premiered on April 14th, over 52 million tweets about the show have flooded the platform in total. false
