The ‘Goosebumps’ trailer is here—and our ’90s inner-child is psyched

The first trailer for the new Goosebumps movie is finally here, and guys, it’s everything we could ever want out of a Goosebumps movie. Seeing as how it would be waaaaaay too hard to pick just one Goosebumps book to adapt for the screen, how about including all of them in the movie? Sounds good to us.

The trailer sets up the basic plot of the movie: Zach (Dylan Minnette, who played Jerry Jr. on Scandal) moves into a new house, and immediately takes a liking to the girl next door, Hannah (Odeya Rush, from The Giver). The only problem? Hannah is the daughter of Goosebumps writer, R.L. Stine (hilariously played by Jack Black), who’s not too keen on her making new friends. Zach tires to befriend her anyway, and in doing so, comes across a bunch of locked Goosebumps books. So sure, why not open them and see what happens?

Zach, haven’t you read ANY Goosebumps books before?! That’s a bad idea, and it quickly gets worse because soon, every single monster ever created by Stine is suddenly running loose through the streets.

Now, it’s a race to see if they can successfully suck the monsters back into the books, before Slappy the Dummy and all his friends take over.

Check out the brand new trailer below. Goosebumps opens just in time for Halloween this year, October 16th.
