These ‘Goosebumps’ movie stills will scare your ’90s inner-child
The latest round of ’90s nostalgia this week comes to us in the form of Goosebumps monsters. But these aren’t the monsters from the beloved thousands of Goosebumps books from our early childhood. These new images come straight from the set of the new Goosebumps movie, hitting theaters in August of 2016. The movie stars Jack Black stars as author R.L. Stine, Rob Letterman (of Monsters vs. Aliens!) directs and School of Rock’s Mike White wrote a draft of the script. We were pretty sold on that information alone.
And then we saw the monsters from the movie (which you can totally meme-out right here). If you want a good little scare to take you all the way back to a Tuesday of yesteryear, here are images of just some of the creatures being brought to life in the movie. The film’s plot has the monsters actually escaping from Stine’s books and entering into the real world. When they come to life, they wreak havoc, naturally. The leader of the monster group is ventriloquist dummy Slappy, and I’m full on prepared to have a 10-year old nightmare again tonight after looking at these pictures.
Take a look for yourself, and just remind yourself again and again, it’s just a movie, it’s just a movie, it’s just a movie . . .
Mildly terrifying, right? But I bet we’ll all put on our bravest face when it comes time to see the movie next year, because we’re willing to be scared if it reminds us of being a kid again.
