This new Google feature will make it easier for you to choose which movie to watch
It’s never been easier to watch movies and TV. Whether you use Netflix, HBO Go, Hulu, iTunes, or good ol’ fashion cable television, media is everywhere. Now the greatest difficulty is choosing what to actually watch. And yet, Google has a solution for that.
It seems that Google is making it easier to pick a good movie by testing movie and TV show ratings with like and dislike buttons.
We already knew our advertisements were geared towards us, but this is a whole new ballgame.
The tech company is still just testing this feature, so a lot of us won’t see the option to like or dislike entertainment.
But here’s an example of how Google’s new ratings feature might appear:
Notice the “like” and “dislike” buttons at the top right? Of course, Google will also show the program’s IMDB and Rotten Tomatoes scores, as well.
We’re not 100% sure how we feel about this.
While we trust Google, they seem to be controlling more and more of our shopping and viewing habits.
But who knows? This could be a really, really useful feature. And we already rate movies on Netflix and Amazon, so what’s the harm? Maybe the new feature will actually recommend some good movies! We can’t tell you the number of times we’ve been burned by bad recommendations. Of course, what we really want to do is watch Gilmore Girls all over again.
