Google is here to make your job hunt a lot easier with its new search function
Job hunt got you down? Don’t worry, Google is here to make your job search much easier.
Google announced that it is rolling out a search function that combines job search results from major sites in one place.
Yep. That means you can stop worriedly toggling between sites like Indeed and Monster, stressed that you’re not seeing the most up-to-date information and listings.
"Google For Jobs [is] a new company-wide initiative focused on helping both job seekers and employers, through collaboration with the job matching industry. One major part of this effort is launching an improved experience for job seekers on Google Search," Google wrote in a blog post.
The improved job search feature is rolling out on mobile and desktop and will allow you to search by city, field, and criteria.
At Google I/O, aka Google’s annual developer conference, Google said it hopes to employ machine learning to organize job data, though they did not explain in detail how that would change or enhance the job search experience. The main point of Google for Jobs, the company says, is just having all job listings in one easy place.
Which, we gotta admit, is so simple and brilliant we’re not sure why we hadn’t thought of it already.
