The Kardashians’ trip to Planned Parenthood will be on their show, and we think that’s great

As we are all aware, the GOP has a mild obsession with defunding Planned Parenthood, the organization that provides reproductive health services for 2.5 million men and women around the country annually and educates around 5 million per year on safe sex and cancer detection. Therefore, we think it’s safe to say that PP can always use more help to get the facts out there about what it is they really do and just how important they are to the American people. This is why we are incredibly pleased that the Kardashians have publicly supported Planned Parenthood by recently visiting a center in Los Angeles for their show.

TMZ reports that Kim, Khloe, and Kourtney recently visited the Planned Parenthood headquarters in West LA to meet with some of the leaders of the organization. According to Khloe’s twitter, they also met with some of the doctors and nurses.

“We’re told,” TMZ adds, “they discussed PP’s health care efforts and how President Trump’s administration is impacting them.”

The episode was filmed for Keeping up with the Kardashians, and while that might feel gimmicky in a way, like it’s just performative feminism for public approval, we also think it’s great that the millions and millions of people who watch their show will get to hear from the organization itself about the services they provide and what is at stake.

Khloe later tweeted, “So great to meet the amazing doctors and nurses @PPFA in Los Angeles. Proud to #StandWithPP #PlannedParenthood“. Planned Parenthood later re-tweeted it.

Kourt added, “They help so many men and women.”

The sisters have been somewhat more open about their politics recently than before. Kim and Kourtney were vocal Hillary supporters in this last election, while Khloe told Chelsea Handler that she didn’t think Trump would be a good president. Kim has been the most open and has used her platform to talk about the Armenian genocide as well as about passing stricter gun control laws.

We are happy to see that the three sisters are becoming more passionate about female reproductive health as well. We can’t wait to see this episode and to learn even more about Planned Parenthood.
