Christina Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman are the television combo we didn’t know we needed
Here we have yet another reminder that sometimes casting dreams do come true, because some of our favorite leading ladies are coming together for NBC’s Good Girls.
Those ladies being: Christina Hendricks, Retta, and Mae Whitman.
You know, alums of Mad Men, Parks and Recreation, and Parenthood, respectively. Seriously, talk about an accomplished bunch!
Hendricks is the latest addition to the midseason drama, as it was just announced that she’s replacing Kathleen Rose Perkins in the part she played in the pilot.
While we’re sad to see Perkins (Episodes) go, we’re so excited about the addition of Hendricks. So, what can we expect? According to Deadline, “Good Girls is described as a comedy-infused drama that mixes a little Thelma & Louise with a bit of Breaking Bad.” Um, we love the sound of that. But wait, there’s more…
The story centers on three suburban moms — the dynamic trio we’re now obsessed with — who join forces to rob a local supermaket (with a toy gun) because they’re fed up with struggling to provide for their families. But, as many robbery stories go, getting away with the crime is far from easy.
So, it seems safe to assume that things will only get more complicated going forward, and we like the sound of that.
Jenna Bans (Grey’s Anatomy) is the creator and an executive producer on the show, which also stars Reno Wilson, Manny Montana, Lidya Jewett, Izzy Stannard, and Matthew Lillard.
Clearly there’s a lot to look forward to, so you bet we’ll be anxiously counting down the days to Good Girls‘ debut.
