Disneyland’s golden churros are here, and our lives will never be the same
Churros, the tried and true staple of any day at Disneyland, just got a truly magical makeover. Why eat a boring, cinnamon-sugar churro when you can eat a glittering GOLDEN churro?
In honor of the 50th anniversary of Pirates of the Caribbean (the ride, not the movie), Disneyland just received a pirates-themed makeover, with brand new entertainment, offerings, and food scattered around New Orleans Square — the OG home of our swashbucklers.
And since pirates and churros go hand (honestly, everything goes hand in hand with a churro), Disneyland decided to update the classic treat for the celebration. Since gold is actually the color used for 50th anniversaries, why NOT roll churros in gold dust? This is a no-brainer.
The churros officially debuted out at Disneyland yesterday, and already people are hightailing it to the park to get their hands on one — and also Instagram it. Though the churros are now coated in gold-dust-sugar, they’re still hella affordable, at $4.25 a piece. Why, one crate full of gold coins could buy you a whole boatload of these things.

If golden beignets are more you’re thing, Disneyland’s got you covered. (Also, supposedly they are lemon-flavored and delicious.)
These gold churros (and beignets) are only available for a limited time, and they’re only available in New Orleans Square. So, if your dream is to search for buried treasure, churro in hand, go commandeer the fastest ship you can find set sail for Disneyland.
