Get ready for *lumos* in the sky — a nighttime Sorting Hat show is coming to Harry Potter World
The Wizarding World of Harry Potter at Universal Studios Hollywood is reportedly about to bring the sorting hat to life with its new nighttime light show. Harry Potter World locations all over the world have tested nighttime spectacular shows during major events — like grand openings and holidays — but now it appears that the Hollywood version of Harry Potter World is going to be hosting one on a regular basis.
The new spectacle, called Nighttime Lights at Hogwarts Castle, launches on June 23rd and will consist of an amazing show featuring all four Hogwarts houses, Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin. Raise your wands if you’re *dying* to see this!
The show is so spectacular, even geniuses behind it are amazed.
“We really wanted the guests to have that bone-chilling moment and go, ‘Wow, this is something I’ve never experienced before,’ Stacey Quinealty, the park’s senior manager of audio and visual production told the L.A. Times. “It’s really spectacular.
The light show is set to occur multiple times throughout the night and will be accompanied by a gorgeous John Williams arrangement, based on his scores from the first three Harry Potter films. We love the idea of the light show bringing the sorting hat to life. The four houses are the cornerstone to life at Hogwarts and (obviously) the sorting hat is instrumental guiding students towards their Hogwarts homes.
Tickets to the rehearsals of the light show will be available for annual pass holders starting in early June, just a few weeks ahead of the June 23rd opening. We’re definitely going to apparate over to California to sneak a glimpse of this amazing show!
