31 days after the “Girls” series finale, Judd Apatow is already thinking about a reboot
Hey, do you remember that show Girls, about a group of twenty-somethings finding themselves in the Big Apple? Sure you do, because it aired its series finale one month ago. While Hannah (creator Lena Dunham), Marnie (Allison Williams), Jessa (Jemima Kirke), Shoshanna (Zosia Mamet), and others haven’t been away for too long, that’s not stopping executive producer Judd Apatow from thinking about a reboot — and we’re kind of into it.
Apatow posted a cute photo of himself and Dunham to Instagram and wrote, “It is a drag not being able to kick around Girls episode ideas anymore. Maybe I will keep a notebook and do it anyway. They brought back Will [&] Grace. Anything is possible.”

He has a point, since revivals seem to be popping up all over the place nowadays. As for the fans, they certainly seem to be excited about the possibility of a return. For instance, ashleykaye16 wrote, “They brought back American Idol in record time…and Girls has a responsibi ..no no..they have a duty to give us more, dammit!! Thanks in advance.. #loyalandlovingfan,” and mohawkedkris commented, “I DON’T EVEN KNOW WHAT TO DO WITH MY SUNDAYS ANYMORE!” Others pleaded with Apatow not to play with their emotions, while some asked him to consider a movie (Sex and the City, anyone?).
The Knocked Up and This Is 40 director has shown the dramedy a lot of love on social media in the past, including this sweet note about Dunham, fellow EP Jenni Konner, HBO, and the cast and crew of the show.

All things considered, Apatow and Dunham seem like a great team, and like he wrote, anything IS possible. So, maybe this is the reboot we didn’t know we needed, but now, we’re very excited to see what happens next.
