This girl’s prom date stood her up but she responded in the best way

It’s important to not let things like not having a date get in the way of a crazy fun prom night, so when Indiana senior Zea got stood up, she did exactly that. She put on a gorgeous dress and strutted her stuff alone, but not before taking some awesome solo pictures that ended up going viral. The photos of Zea, posing alone and with her friends, have been retweeted over 3,000 times and are equally as popular on Tumblr.

Here’s what happened: At Saint Joseph High School, students are required to perform 20 hours of community service before they can attend prom. While Zea’s date claimed that he had fulfilled his hours, by the night of the dance, this was clearly not the case. Everything happened so quickly that Zea was still applying her make-up on the ride over — but you’d never know. The confidence and sass in her photos outshines any kind of make-up.

Despite her radiance, Zea was still nervous about showing up alone:

Her sister, who assured her everything would be alright, captured all of this on Twitter, and has been avidly supporting Zea online and in real life.

Zea can clearly hold her own, and we’d be her prom date in a heartbeat — though we wouldn’t look half as good!
