Brilliant Girl Scouts use Leonardo DiCaprio as their mascot, sell so many cookies
We’re still LOLing about that time Chris Rock used the Oscars as an opportunity to help his daughters sell Girl Scout cookies. It was funny, and also a wild success: Between cookie sales and donations, they raised $65,243 that night. One of their most high-profile customers was soon-to-be Oscar winner Leonardo DiCaprio. Now, Girl Scouts are brilliantly using that moment as a sales campaign. And it’s totally working!
After the Oscars, a troop in Suffolk County, New York was inspired to do some clever fundraising of their own. They set up shop with a humorous sign featuring Leo himself in that moment, licking his lips and looking lovingly at a beautiful box of Trefoils. The post suggests that good things come to those who buy Girl Scout cookies. Because hey, it worked for Leo.
