This girl dialed the wrong number, and gave someone an unexpectedly beautiful gift in the process
Usually, dialing the wrong number is a somewhat awkward inconvenience for the people on both ends of the phone. But, proving that love and joy can be found in the most unexpected places, a girl who dialed the wrong number gave someone a beautiful gift — accidentally.
17-year-old Jaileene Andrade attempted to dial her mom’s new number, but accidentally reached a complete stranger — and you’re going to want to have your tissues handy, because what happened next will give you all the feels.
The misdial connected Andrade to a mother who had lost her only daughter around the holidays. The woman, who remains anonymous, later texted the teen to tell her that hearing the words “Hey, Mom” were “a great gift.”

Andrade was moved by the text and she posted it to Twitter, where it quickly went viral — receiving over 300,000 likes and 85,000 retweets in just one week.
But people didn’t just retweet and move on — because Andrade didn’t blur out the woman’s number, the grieving mom received a number of text messages from folks wishing her a Merry Christmas and sending their best wishes.
We’re not crying — you are. (Oh, who are we kidding? We’re all probably crying right now.) Not all good things come in small packages — sometimes they come in the form of a phone call from a stranger. And sometimes the best holiday gifts come from the most unexpected places.
