Gina Rodriguez shows us how to end a bad date like a total badass

If you’ve been on a bad date, then you know just how bad it can be. Your date’s personality just might not jive with yours. Maybe they’re kinda mean, and crack jokes at the expense of other people and this makes you feel rotten inside. Or maybe they just give you the indescribable, instinctive GUT feeling you shouldn’t be on a date with them. Whatever it is, there’s no real reason you need to hang out with this human person if you don’t want to, even if you think it would be rude to leave.

Gina Rodriguez, the star of one of our fave lady-empowering shows, Jane the Virgin, definitely does not put up with bad dates. Like, not at ALL. This month, she told Glamour exactly how she bailed out of a date with a jerk:

But seriously, LOOK AT YOU, GINA, YOU BADASS. #YOLO all the way. Her brazen attitude is empowering, and something we should keep in mind the next time we find ourselves on a terrible, no good, very bad date and need a respectful, but straight-to-the-point excuse to leave (without even having to lie!).
