Gina Rodriguez handles catcalling in the most hilarious way

Sadly, catcalling is an unfortunate and unnecessary reality of life for most women. While many of us just try to keep on walking and brush it off, Jane The Virgin star Gina Rodriguez has a *brilliant* way of dealing with unwanted jerks yelling at her on the street, and we’re LOLing.

In a recent The Hollywood Reporter comedy actress roundtable, Ilana Glazer, Gina Rodriguez, Rachel Bloom, Allison Janney, Niecy Nash, and Lily Tomlin gathered together to discuss gender and power in Hollywood. When the conversation turned to street harassment, Gina explained that she dealt with catcalling in a very unique way.

After NYU, I lived deep, deep in Brooklyn, and you’d get the catcalling, and I’d just turn and bark,” she said, making barking noises to demonstrate. “And they were like, ‘This bitch is crazy.’ And I’d be like, ‘Yeah, g’bye.‘”

PURE BRILLIANCE.

Gina also opened up about weird questions she gets from fans due to her part on Jane the Virgin — specifically involving their sexuality. “Because I play a virgin on TV, what I get is people desiring to tell me their specific sexual orientation or if they’re currently having sex or if they are themselves a virgin,” she said.

Awkward. Well, one thing’s for sure — we’re certainly going to be dealing with gross catcallers in Gina’s way from now on.
