Why the “Gilmore Girls” revival “ruined” Lorelai (aka Lauren Graham)
Know how the Netflix’s Gilmore Girls revival, A Year In the Life, is totally going to destroy your mind, body, and soul? Yeah, same goes for Lauren Graham, except that it’s already happened for her.
The ridiculously-anticipated revival will land on the streaming site sometime this year (CROSS YOUR FINGERS), and since wrapping production, Graham has had to come to grips with the fact that the most perfect moments of her life are now in the past. Lorelai was the pinnacle of everything for her (and also for us).
“I relished [shooting the revival], and I’m ruined for life because there’s no more perfect fit I feel like for me than that writing and that show,” she explained to People after announcing the 68th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards Thursday morning. “I’m so glad I got to do it again. I just can’t even explain it. It was everything I wanted it to be and more.”
Hearing that Graham thought it was ~perfect~ makes us just so much more excited to be able to see the revival with our own eyes. The notion that A Year In the Life will be ~too perfect~ for this world is actually a prophecy that might come true in the near future. But like…so perfect she’s never going to want to go back and do it again?
Graham doesn’t say, but we can hope. Because when you find something so magical and wonderful in life you want to hold on to it forever — and in our case, we want to binge it forever.
