Could there be more “Gilmore Girls” episodes than we initially thought?!

While Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life hasn’t even aired yet (literally only eight more days though!), it seems that the cast aren’t calling the Netflix revival an ending.
Could there be more episodes of Gilmore Girls planned than initially expected?
Given that the show’s revival, which starts on Netflix on November 25th, is already receiving rave reviews, and after seeing how excited basically the whole world is for Lorelai and Rory Gilmore’s return, it doesn’t seem out of the question, right?
Well, in an interview with Metro.co.uk, both Alexis Bledel (Rory) and Lauren Graham (Lorelai) refused to rule out returning to the show and we’re jumping for joy.
When quizzed about whether they’d come back for another series, Lauren said that it would all depend on what it meant for Lorelai.
"It's hard to say," she said, "I love it so much that I would just want to do what's best for the show. I think what we've done was such a great piece, this mini-series to me was incredibly gratifying.
However, then she dropped this bomb about what show creator Amy Sherman-Palladino had in mind for the series.
"Amy always had the Sherlock model in mind," Lauren continued. "Some years it's three, some years it's one, some year's they go back in time. So perhaps we need to go back in time? I don't know, it's hard to say."
However, that’s not all that went down during the interview.
Asked (without giving away any spoilers) if they were happy with the way that A Year in the Life ends, Lauren was hesitant to call it the end of the show.
"I think it was the perfect...I don't want to say the word ending because I don't wanna...To me it was appropriate and gratifying," Lauren said.
Both went on to reveal that THOSE final four words weren’t even included in the script.
"I was surprised as well, a bit taken aback really, and then I thought, 'Of course Amy would do that!'" Alexis teased. "They're only four words guys, we can only do so much," Lauren added, trying to calm fan expectation.

Okay, so let’s break this down.
While they don’t explicitly say that the show would return, they definitely don’t rule it out, which is quite exciting! In fact, Lauren refused to call it an ending! Also, that little bit of information about how Amy Sherman-Palladino wanted to re-create the Sherlock model of having one-off episodes, a mini-series, or even a #flashback episode is definitely interesting.
Of course, this all depends on how Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life ends and what those fated four last words reveal. Perhaps things will get all tied up or perhaps things will be left open for more visit to Stars Hollow. ONLY EIGHT DAYS LEFT GUYS!
