Well twist the knife a little bit more, Milo Ventimiglia doesn’t sound up for more “Gilmore Girls”
Earlier this week, we got the first real news about more Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life. According to Netflix’s Chief Content Officer, Ted Sarandos, the streaming site and Amy Sherman-Palladino are in “preliminary talks” to bring back Lorelai and Rory for more. This is very exciting for us, because YES, we want more Stars Hollow. This is how the majority of us feel. And now for the minority, Milo Ventimiglia is like welllllllllllllllllll…
Milo, who played bad-boy-dreamboat Jess (#TeamJessForever), has spoken out before about the fact that maybe we should just let sleeping Kirks lie. Maybe we shouldn’t wish and hope for more Gilmore Girls, and as he succinctly put it, “[we] were given a last serving of pie — why don’t we just leave it at that?”
TBH, if someone is offering us more pie, we are never going to say no to pie.
Now, once again, Milo is saying we shouldn’t hold out hope for more, and that maybe there shouldn’t be more.
???
"I’m constantly trying to evolve and grow and I think when you have a show that is so far in the past, like over a decade in the past, to visit it once, hey, it’s a blast ― you see some old friends, jump into the shoes and the leather jacket of an old character," He explained in a recent AOL Build Series video. "But then, you’re like, ‘OK, cool. We gave you that last slice of pie. I’m going to go back to this other show I have called “This Is Us and the other gigs that I’m working on.’"
Now, if that wasn’t clear enough, Milo continues:
"So, as much as I would love for audiences to have [Gilmore Girls], it’s also like, guys, just accept what you got and that you got a little bit more, which is awesome. Not everybody gets that.
Not to use that pie analogy again, but if we’re being offered more pie, YES WE WILL TAKE THE WHOLE PIE. We are never going to look a gift-pie in the mouth (pan?). Milo’s right in suggesting we shouldn’t hold our breath for more Gilmore Girls, but if Netflix is really offering…we’re not going to turn it down.
Honestly, this just raises a bigger question: What does Milo have against pie??? And by pie, we mean A Year in the Life Season 2.
