“Gilmore Girls” fans will love the most popular baby boy name in 2016
Have you had enough Gilmore Girls yet? Nah, we didn’t think so. This GG update is, however, coming from an unusual source. The most popular baby names of 2016 recently came out. We’ve already discussed the most popular girls’ names, so what about the boys? Honestly, looking at this list, it could be from almost any year. For whatever reason it sounds like people are less adventurous when it comes to naming their sons as opposed to their daughters…but the number one boys’ name definitely caught our attention.
We’re sure the man, the myth, the legend Jackson Belleville would be proud to hear that the most popular baby name of 2016 for boys is, surprise surprise, JACKSON.
(Let’s be real, though, Sookie would be prouder. She’d also probably panic that Jackson has a bunch of illegitimate children named after him running around and upping the tally of baby Jacksons in the world.)
Jackson is kind of an old-fashioned sounding name that suits one of our favorite Stars Hollow guys perfectly, so we’re not surprised it jumped to the top of the list this year. All of the names for baby girls had a certain vintage flair to them, so it’s only fitting that the trend with boys’ names matched.
According to Baby Center, here are the top 25 baby boy names this year:
- Jackson
- Aiden
- Lucas
- Liam
- Noah
- Ethan
- Mason
- Caden
- Oliver
- Elijah
- Grayson
- Jacob
- Michael
- Benjamin
- Carter
- James
- Jayden
- Logan
- Alexander
- Caleb
- Ryan
- Luke
- Daniel
- Jack
- William
We’re also big fans of William (Westworld, anyone?), Liam (Hemsworth?! Yes please.), and Luke (another Gilmore Girl-inspired name?).
