Let’s look at this behind-the-scenes “Gilmore Girls” picture of Luke and Jess for, idk, ten hours?

In literally a few short hours (like, 40-ish), we’re going to be able to see Gilmore Girls: A Year in the Life with our own eyes and everything in the world will be MAGIC. But, you know, 40-ish hours is still kind of a long time to wait for Lorelai and Rory to come back, so do you wanna take one more quick look at a Gilmore Girls picture? How about a behind-the-scenes picture of….IDK, JESS?

Oh yes. The once and future perfect boyfriend* for Rory is back in Stars Hollow, and he is back hanging out in the diner. While it does not appear that he is working at Luke’s anymore — you know, because he’s not wearing the ~Luke Uniform~ — Jess is back in town, and he’s more than likely here to shake up a few things. And/or maybe break some hearts.

*this is subjective, I know.

Netflix has shared this behind-the-scenes pic of Jess and Luke in the diner, and now we need to know what they’re talking about.

It appears as if this Jess and Luke moment might give way to this Jess and Luke discussion, since they’re both wearing the same outfit. What are they talking about??

Getting a look at Jess aside, this is actually a pretty cool look at just how Gilmore Girls comes to life. While we only see a finished look inside Luke’s Diner, this is what it looks like while they’re filming. There are camera operators, and boom operators (that’s sound), and overhead lights to make everything inside look extra pretty and perfect.

…even though Jess always looks pretty and perfect.
