Gigi Hadid has something to say to the trolls who say she’s “too skinny”

Both Bella and Gigi Hadid are no strangers to comments about their weight. No matter what, it seems like everyone has an opinion — and those opinions are often negative. In an interview with Harper’s Bazaar, Gigi admitted that she’s loved her body throughout all of its stages, and noted it’s important to always appreciate yourself.

Gigi, who was interviewed by Blake Lively for the publication, brought up the fact that she still receives negative backlash from internet trolls about her weight loss, and yes — it still stings.

“Most of it is just nonsense. But it can still hurt,” she said. “Nowadays, people are quick to say, ‘I used to love Gigi’s body, and now she just gave in.’ But I’m not skinny because I gave in to the industry,” noting that she’s had to make many lifestyle changes in terms of diet and exercise after being diagnosed with Hashimoto’s disease (an autoimmune disorder).

She also said that sometimes she takes the criticism to heart, but mostly tries to remind herself that life is about loving the skin you’re in and tuning out the noise.

"If I could choose, I would have my a** back and I would have the t*ts I had a few years ago. But, honestly, we can't look back with regret. I loved my body then, and I love my body now," Gigi said."Whoever is reading this, I want you to realize that three years from now, you will look back at a picture from this time period and be like: 'Wow, I was so hot. Why did I feel so bad about myself because of some stupid thing someone said?'"

Blake also chimed in, reminding readers to never compare themselves to the images they see in magazines, because basically everyone is Photoshopped.

"99.9 percent of the time, the images are Photoshopped," she said. "I'm guilty myself of being at a photo shoot and saying, 'That looks terrible on me.' And they're like, 'We'll fix it.' And you're so relieved."

We’re thanking these lovely ladies (both inside and out) for reminding us to love our bodies more and judge ourselves less.
