Gigi Hadid clapped back at rumors that she got fillers while pregnant during Fashion Month
When it comes to pregnant women and new mothers (actually just all mothers and women in general), people are quick to judge. Well, Gigi Hadid isn’t going to let the haters get her down. The model and newly announced mom-to-be did a tutorial with makeup artist Erin Parsons on Maybelline’s Instagram Live yesterday and discussed some of the comments she’s seen people make about her online. Specifically, the most common rumor she addressed is about her having gotten dermal fillers.
Hadid says she especially saw this rumor going around during Fashion Month, when she was already a few months pregnant. “People think I do fillers on my face, and that’s why my face is round—I’ve had this since I was born,” she said.
Parsons noted that it’s common during pregnancy for women’s cheeks and faces to fill out. In response, Gigi replied, “I think I have the cheeks already, so it’s like there’s not a lot to like, fill in.” No matter what, though, Hadid seemed ready to embrace whatever pregnancy changes are to come.
“Don’t worry. I’m happy with the natural process of the world,” Hadid said.

Hadid also shut down rumors that she had ever used fillers in the past, saying, “No, for those wondering, I’ve never injected anything into my face.” But she’s also not here to shame those who have. “I’m so happy for everyone to do whatever they want that makes them happy and makes them feel more comfortable and good about themselves,” she said.
It wasn’t just fillers that had people buzzing online about Hadid, either, she said. She told Parsons she’s seen people say that she shapes her brows to make them extra arched but assures them, “If you look at baby pictures of me, I’ve had these crazy arched brows since I was born.”
When she isn’t feeling comfortable and good about herself, Hadid says she loves the power of makeup to give her a boost of confidence. “I’ve loved being like, ‘I accept myself how it is.’ That doesn’t mean I don’t have insecurities sometimes. But like, for special occasions, you can sculpt your nose a little bit or do whatever with makeup. Makeup is such a beautiful tool to help you feel your best for special moments but to also accept your beautiful face.”
While Hadid did gracefully respond to online trolls, she absolutely shouldn’t feel obligated to defend her choices in pregnancy. Those decisions are between her and her doctor.
