Gigi Hadid got so real about her rekindled relationship with Zayn Malik in this epic internet clapback
Gigi Hadid is not here for anyone’s negativity when it comes to her rekindled romance with Zayn Malik. After a gossip Instagram account accused the couple of faking their relationship for PR, the supermodel set the record straight once and for all. Not only did Hadid confirm that she and the singer are, in fact, officially back on, but she made sure to let everyone know that they’re the real deal.
The account in question tagged Hadid in a post speculating that her relationship with Malik is fake because he isn’t following her on Instagram. While PR-based relationships do happen in the entertainment industry, it’s completely unfair to assume that Hadid and Malik’s romance isn’t real based on a petty detail like not following each other on social media. So Hadid decided to clear a few things up for those who may have doubts.
In a lengthy comment, she addressed her relationship, referred to the former One Directioner as her “boyfriend,” and opened up about the struggles of dating in the public eye.
"Seems like u guys tag me in a new post every day... pls stop... it’s just negative, I really have no hard feelings towards you I just know what a beautiful world there is to go out and live in instead of trying to dissect a relationship between two people that you don’t even know and that you do not see 99% of... for someone who is virtually inactive on the app, I don’t need his follow - my eyes are tattooed to his chest," she wrote.
(Hadid is of course referring to the tattoo Malik got on his chest of Hadid’s eyes in January.)
"The energy you put into this does not serve your life in any way kids... truly ‘beating a dead horse.’ You guys can call it promo but I just post about my boyfriend like anyone else, whether I support z or he supports me is out of love and excitement for one another. There’s nothing to figure out all the time... give it a break." Hadid continued.
The 23-year-old ended her comment by saying this is the last time she’ll be addressing the matter. However, she later responded to a fan who told her she could have just DM’d the account owner. Hadid explained that she’d reached her limit because “assumptions like this can be hurtful, especially about someone I love deeply.”
