Gigi Hadid perfects the “underwear as outerwear” trend in her bra top + sheer jacket outfit

It’s time to talk about a fashion trend that would probably make most of us feel awkward AF if worn in real life. Ladies, we’re talking about wearing underwear as outerwear. Plenty of celebs — from Rihanna and Demi Lovato out on the street to Britney Spears’ iconic hot pink outfit with her undies over her jeans in “I’m A Slave 4 U” — have rocked the look, and the latest star to make the case for underwear as outerwear is supermodel Gigi Hadid.

We know — it might seem completely foreign and awkward to you to rock a bra as your actual top, but hear us out. Gigi appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! last night and stepped out in Los Angeles before the show in a gorgeous all-black outfit with her bandeau bra fully on display. If you’re slightly afraid of showing this much skin, then you must look to Gigi for inspiration, because she pulled it off perfectly.

Gigi rocked her bra as her top but covered up a bit with a see-through black blouse that she kept unbuttoned. She wore black wide-legged sequin pants, and topped her look off with black boots and gold hoop earrings. The cherry on top was her light smoky eye and loose, wavy top knot. So gorgeous.

Gigi gave the look a bohemian vibe, which we love, but this would also be perfect for a night out with the girls or a fancy holiday party. Who says you have to rock a boring LBD at a formal occasion? All you really need is a pair of black sequin pants and a bra top, and you’re set. We’re lovin’ this vibe.
