The actor who played the giant on “Game of Thrones” has actually played three other roles

As we mentioned previously, the Mountain has been played by no less than THREE people on Game of Thrones. And one of those tall drinks of water was Welsh Actor, Ian Whyte.

Here he is IRL and also in costume as the Mountain in Season 2, Episode 7, “A Man Without Honor.”

Although the role of the Mountain has been played by Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson since Season 4, Whyte rejoined the Thrones cast in Season 5 a little more ~under the radar~ (because, you know prosthetic makeup magic) as our (now deceased) favorite Giant, Wun Weg Wun Dar Wun or “Wun Wun” to friends.

And, because playing two awesome characters isn’t enough, Whyte has actually played FOUR characters on the show! He was also a White Walker in Seasons 1 and 2, as well as the OTHER giant, Dongo (who you may recall was heavily featured in the Battle of Castle Black.)

Basically, we’ve seen Ian every season without even realizing it.

For such a (literally) huge talent, we can’t believe no one’s talking about the fact that Whyte has been around ALL ALONG and playing such kick-ass characters!

We’re sad to see Wun Wun go, of course, but given the fact Whyte has been on Thrones every season, we’re sure this isn’t the last we’ll see of him…
