This GIANT $10 lip balm changed my life (and my lips)

I’ve always had a love-hate relationship with lip balms. I’d find one that spoke to me in super cute packaging with a delicious, bakery-like scent, but then… it was all downhill from there. I’d apply it to my lips and, hours later, they’d still be chapped. Or worse: They’d feel slightly bruised.

Early this year, when I wrote “If you’re addicted to your lip balm, read this now,” I began to understand why my lips were rebelling against the balm that was trying to make them beautiful. Though I don’t know for sure, I have a feeling that I was allergic to one or more of the ingredients that are commonly used to make lip balm what it is.

Thankfully, around the same time, I came across YouTube beauty guru Kandee Johnson’s “13 Ways To Wake Up Extra Beautiful” video. During her tutorial, she mentions using a lip balm that safely doubles as an undereye moisturizer. It’s the Treat Beauty Jumbo Lip Balm

Since I was fed up with lip balms betraying me, I did a lot of research before I gave Kandee’s recommendation a try. According to their website, Treat’s product is USDA certified organic, never tested on animals, and is three times the size of a normal lip balm. Since it costs $10, you definitely feel like you’re getting what you pay for.

Aside from the above fun facts, I’m happy to report that I actually know what the ingredients are (and can pronounce them): Organic Coconut Oil, Organic Beeswax, Kosher Vegetable Glycerin, Shea Butter, Flavor.

Though Kandee talked about the “Marshmallow Cream” scent, I instead decided to go for the classic “Soft Candy” scent, which smells like a light buttercream frosting. It’s not too overpowering, but it still gives off a super yummy smell.

The overall verdict: I will never use another lip balm. This one barely feels like it’s on my lips, yet it keeps them moisturized and happy. Honestly, I can’t remember the last time I had chapped lips. What’s perhaps the best part is that the balm is cruelty-free.

Ultimately, I’d say that this lip balm is a real treat.
