Get a taste of Eddie Redmayne reading the “Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them” audiobook

Potterheads and fans of the spoken word rejoice as we’ve *finally* been given a taste of Eddie Redmayne reading the audiobook for Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them.

It was announced earlier this year that the fictional textbook Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them was getting a re-release with new entries and a new foreword. Following that news, Eddie Redmayne, who plays Newt Scamander (the author of said textbook) in the movie adaptations, was revealed as the new narrator of the audiobook versions, and it’s safe to say that we were pretty darn excited, especially after we saw how into the recording process he was.

Now, we’ve been given another even bigger taster of Redmayne’s narration of Fantastic Beats and Where to Find Them, and it’s so soothing that we actually can’t get enough of it.

Thanks to our friends Entertainment Weekly, we’ve been given snippets of Redmayne narrating the book, giving us more insight into some of the fantastic beasts from J.K. Rowling’s Wizarding World.

Each entry has sound effects that actually really add depth and atmosphere to the descriptions of the beasts, while Eddie brings the character of Newt Scamander alive again.

"It wasn’t until I started reading it out loud for the audiobook that I realized how tricky and poetic J.K. Rowling’s use of sounds and language can be, Redmayne said in a statement. "There are some really great tongue-twister words in here! Occasionally, I had to stop recording just because I was incapable of saying the words without either laughing or getting my tongue in a muddle. I enjoyed the challenge and hope listeners can sense that in my narration."

Meanwhile, Audible, the company distributing the audiobook, revealed that the collection was their most pre-ordered audiobook ever.

You can download Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them via Audible now.
