Get to Know: Jessica St. Clair

Are you looking for a new show to fall in love with? Look no further. In the new hilarious comedy series, Playing House (premiering Tuesday, April 29th at 10/9c on USA Network!), comes the story of a mother-to-be who gets her single best friend (Lennon Parham and Jessica St. Clair from Best Friends Forever) to give up her job, move back home and help her raise her baby.

Half of the bestie parenting duo, Jessica St. Clair plays Emma Crawford a high-powered business executive working in Shanghai. Emma left her hometown as fast as she could. The only good thing about where she grew up is Maggie, her best friend. Since Emma left, the two have been living very different lives far away from each other. Emma loves working (she hasn’t taken any time off in three years) though she admits that the rest of her life is lacking-slash-nonexistent. She doesn’t have a boyfriend or any friends where she lives. How will this new life be for Emma? Bumpy, awkward and full of crazy shenanigans, I’m guessing!

If you’re thinking you’ve seen St. Clair before, you’d be right. St. Clair’s journey to fame began as a performer at the legendary Upright Citizens Brigade Theater in New York and Los Angeles. Since then, you’ve probably seen her in well….practically everything. Most recently, she had roles in the critically praised independent films Afternoon Delight and Enough Said. One of her most memorable roles was in Bridesmaids in the unforgettably disgusting/spectacular bridal salon food poisoning scene. Other credits include Sacha Baron Cohen’s The Dictator, Wanderlust, Veep, The Office, Parks and Recreation, Curb Your Enthusiasm, and right alongside her current co-star and co-creator, she was in Best Friends Forever with Parham.

Since this is a show about putting friendship above all else, and St. Clair and Parham clearly have a fantastic BFF bond in real life, we’re in for a treat. Playing House premieres Tuesday, April 29th at 10/9c on USA Network.
