We can all go home, George R. R. Martin just won the internet today
Yes, George R. R. Martin should REALLY be off writing a book right now, but he is not. We all know this. The man loves to procrastinate, and this is why we don’t have The Winds of Winter yet.
That aside, in his not-writing time, he likes to share little things on Twitter, and earlier today, he shared the best thing on Twitter. Go ahead and save to drafts whatever funny/sassy/quippy Tweet you’ve already composed for today, because nothing will be able to beat what Martin just shared. He just won. Everyone else go home.
And the tweet of the day is….
So, my publishers say I have to start trying to appeal to a younger audience… pic.twitter.com/T3BZuw6iqB

As Martin writes, his publisher wants him to start appealing to a younger audience, and like lol, what?
Twitter was quick to respond with the jokes.

Yeah, let's not do this.

That would have appealed to young people in 1997!

So MC RR, when's your WoW mixtape coming out?

And also the jokes that Martin should be writing faster. Because, come on, you should.
The quicker you finish Winds of Winter, the younger your audience will be.

false
On one hand, it’s kinda hilarious that this is Martin’s response for trying to lure in “younger readers.” On the other, pretty sure Martin already has kids, and adults, of all ages hooked on his epic saga. Considering that Game of Thrones is one of the most popular shows on the planet — if not THE most popular — Martin really doesn’t need to add any more ~pizzaz~ to his books.
He just has to finish them. That’s the moral of the story here. Finish the books, George.
