Gary Fisher’s official Instagram just shared a heartfelt post for his mom, Carrie
Two days ago, when Carrie Fisher passed away due to complications from a heart attack she had last week on a flight from London to Los Angeles, we collectively wondered how this year could get any worse. Last night, we got the answer when Carrie’s mother, legendary actress Debbie Reynolds, passed away. Since the news of their deaths, there’s been an outpouring of support for the Fisher family — for Todd Fisher, the son of Debbie and brother of Carrie, Billie Lourd, Carrie’s daughter, and Gary, Fisher’s beloved support dog.
Early this morning, the official Instagram for Gary Fisher broke its silence for the first time since the passing of Carrie.
Accompanying the photo of the makeshift star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame fans made for Fisher was the caption,
“I miss her soooo much, she was the BEST mOm eVeR!! I ❤️u and Ms. Debbie too. 🐶😞😪 #garyloveshismom#garyloveshisfans #garyfisher #garyissad
Gary, a four-year-old french bulldog, became a social media sensation last year due to his appearances on-screen with Carrie during her press tours for Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens and for her new book The Princess Diarist. One of his most memorable appearances was during Carrie’s Good Morning America interview for Star Wars where Carrie bragged about his Twitter popularity and Gary was visibly bored and fell asleep in the chair.
Gary who was on the plane with Carrie when she suffered her heart attack, will reportedly be taken in by Billie, per Carrie’s wishes. While we’re heartbroken for the Fisher family in the losses of Carrie and Debbie, we believe that Billie and Gary will be a great source of comfort for each other as they process the difficult losses.
