“Game of Thrones” just celebrated today’s national holiday in the best way ever
There are spoilers ahead for the latest episode of Game of Thrones, “The Spoils of War.” If you haven’t seen it yet, best flee this page like the Lannister army running for cover. Or boot it up on HBO Go right this instant, your choice.
Happy National Sisters Day from everyone at Game of Thrones! If you didn’t realized that this was a holiday until right now, well, now you do. Clearly, the folks over at HBO were well aware of this impending date, August 6th, and decided the best way to celebrate was to reunite the Stark sisters.
YES. YES! IT FINALLY HAPPENED.
All along, we knew that a Stark reunion was in the works and, if you can believe it, the time is finally here. Sansa is back at Winterfell (and Lady of it, don’t you forget). Last week, Bran made his way back home and now, Arya has showed up at the gates as well. Too bad that Jon Snow is off in the south trying to get dragonglass from Dany…
But that’s not why we’re here right now. We’re here to talk about the fact that after going back and forth across Westeros — in Arya’s case, multiple times — Sansa and Arya are finally together once again.
The two joke about how they both have intense (and heartbreaking) stories to tell about exactly how they made it back north. That’ll have to wait for another day, as before the two can really gossip much they go see Emo Bran and Arya starts jousting with Brienne (OUR HEARTS).
Want to know who’s not happy about this reunion? Littlefinger. Want to know who needs to GTFO out of Winterfell? Littlefinger. Hopefully Arya’s wisdom, and newly acquired dagger, see to it that he’s out the door before the end of the season.
