New footage from GoT Season 8 is here, and you can cut the tension between Sansa and Dany with a knife
Daenerys Targaryen has finally made it to Winterfell. Last night, January 6th, during the 2019 Golden Globes, HBO unveiled a look at its 2019 programming…and this time, we were served brand new footage of this year’s most highly anticipated shows, including Big Little Lies, Watchmen, and, of course, the final season of Game of Thrones.
Season 7 saw most of the remaining Game of Thrones characters come together in a testy diplomatic face-off in the Dragonpit at King’s Landing, during which the warring Dany and Cersei Lannister finally came face-to-face. However, there’s one group of people Dany didn’t have the pleasure of meeting last season: Jon Snow’s family. With Jon and Dany on their way to Winterfell at the end of the season, a Stark reunion is in store for Season 8…but that doesn’t necessarily mean Jon’s new love—and, er aunt—will be welcomed with open arms.

Despite channeling her inner Ned Stark, diplomatically telling the Queen, “Winterfell is yours, Your Grace,” there’s no mistaking Sansa’s mistrustful stare. Yikes. And only time will tell how reunions with the deadly Arya and new Three-Eyed-Raven, Bran—who is very much aware of Dany and Jon’s true relation—will go down.
The final season of Game of Thrones will consist of six episodes and is set to premiere in April 2019. Fingers crossed a full Season 8 trailer is on its way, because we’re definitely going to need more to hold us over in the months leading up to the premiere.
