“Game of Thrones” Season 7 has been delayed, and nothing matters anymore

Take a seat and grab something you love to hold tight, because we’ve got the worst bummer news ever. You thought it was bad when Jon Snow died.

For the past SIX SEASONS, Game of Thrones has premiered in April (except for Season 3, when it premiered on March 31st, but that’s only off by a day). We’ve just come to expect and accept that every April, we have to cancel all our plans for every single Sunday in the month, because GAME OF THRONES!!

Well. For 2017, your April is going to be wide open.

Talking on the UFC Unfiltered podcast, showrunners David Benioff and Dan Weiss broke the news: don’t expect Game of Thrones to be back in April 2017. It’s going air later on in 2017, but that doesn’t even matter right now because nothing matters anymore, because we have to wait EVEN LONGER FOR GAME OF THRONES.

“We don’t have an air date yet, but this year it’ll be a little bit later,” the two showrunners explain on the podcast, “We’re starting a bit later because at the end of this season, ‘Winter is here,’ and that means that sunny weather doesn’t really serve our purposes any more. So we kind of pushed everything down the line, so we could get some grim grey weather even in the sunnier places that we shoot.”

Okay, okay, their reason for the pushback is a fine and solid reason, but it still hurts a lot. Benioff and Weiss mention that there’s no date whatsoever set for Game of Throne’s return, and who knows, maybe it’ll snow like, tomorrow, and they can start shooting and air in April 2017, like we’re used to!

But…probably not.

So go ahead, let those emotions flow.
