According to Sophie Turner, this is going to be the best season yet for Sansa on “Game of Thrones”
Know who needs to catch a break? Sansa Stark. Season 5 of Game of Thrones was a rough one for her, for a whole myriad of reasons, most of them having to do with Ramsay Bolton. Towards the end of the season she seems to be in a much better place, if only because she’s literally taken the leap to, hopefully, safety. So, could things finally start coming up Sansa?
According to Sophie Turner, yes. This is going to be Sansa’s year!
“This season is a really, really big one for Sansa,” Turner explained to Entertainment Weekly at the Screen Actors Guild Awards last night. “It’s her really coming into her own. She, this season, really commands the respect that she deserves and she grabs hold of it and she runs with it and it’s really good.”
Let’s go ahead and assume that Sansa (spoiler) survives that jump off the Winterfell wall with Theon, and the two arrive semi-safely below in the snow. From what Turner is hinting at, the jump really sets in motion Sansa’s new outlook, because “[she] can only suffer so much.”
But, just because things are looking sunny for Sansa, doesn’t mean that everything is going to be smooth sailing.
“There’s so many shocks, [this season] it’s massive,” Turner continued. “It’s the biggest season yet. And just like in terms of character development, so many people’s storylines, I’m so excited for. I’m so excited to see Alfie’s [Allen, who plays Theon] one this season. It’s going to be good.”
We can’t wait. Game of Thrones returns to our lives on April 24, 2016.
