‘Game of Thrones’ fans are freaking out over this Jon Snow spotting

Okay, Game of Thrones fans, are you sitting down? We might have big, big news about Jon Snow in the upcoming season, but you’re going to have to brace yourself.

It seems, according to the Game of Thrones fan site, Watchers of the Wall, Kit Harrington was spotted on set in the Northern Ireland town Saintfield, filming a MAJOR battle scene with co-star Iwan Rheon who plays Ramsay.

Even though showrunners told Entertainment Weekly that Jon Snow was “deader than dead,” fans have been getting some real mixed messages lately. This Kit Harrington sighting is only the latest in the swirling rumors about Jon’s fate.

Now that the HBO television series has out paced George R.R. Martin’s book series A Song of Ice and Fire, fans are desperate to know what is going to happen to the Lord Commander in the upcoming season. Some theories suggest that Jon Snow ‘warged,’ embodying his direwolf, Ghost, while others hint at Melisandre channelling the Lord of Light to resurrect him.

Another rumor making the Internet rounds suggests that Jon Snow has a twin sister, Meera, and she’ll aid in fulfilling his destiny as Azor Ahai or one of the three heads of the dragon.

Whether any of this is true or not, it is a fact that Kit Harington has been spotted in Belfast with other cast members, so it’s not so far-fetched to think he’s there to film for the upcoming season. WotW seem to think that the epic battle he was seen filming involves “ many  Northern armies fighting including the Umbers, the Boltons, wildlings and more!”

Although Watchers of the Wall are careful to use language that is vague describing Kit Harrington’s specific part in the battle, they are pretty specific in predicting that the battle in question will appear in episode 8 of the upcoming season.

As for the sixth book in the Martin series, well, there aren’t very many firm details about it, either. Martin has reportedly, “ been canceling public appearances and passing up other Thrones projects to focus on finishing it,” but he’s been saying that for 20 years.

Fans can expect to be watching season six of Game of Thrones in April, and reading book six sometime in 2016.
