The “Game of Thrones” creators made an ice and fire Spotify playlist, so there’s *something* to hold you over
The team behind Game of Thrones may not release spoilers, but they have given us some tunes to get us through Season 7. Game of Thrones co-creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss have released a playlist packed with jams — and who knows, maybe some hints about what’s to come this season?!
Music is a big part of Game of Thrones, but the show typically doesn’t feature any current hits on the show (though, modern-day, singer-songwriter Ed Sheeran did just make a cameo!). But now, co-creators Benioff and Weiss have “envisioned” a Spotify playlist for Game of Thrones Season 7. It’s a lot more chill than the playlist we got for the Night King, but it still gives some insight into what’s in store over the next handful of weeks.
There are some pretty great jams on the list, from “Flugufrelsarinn” by Sigur Rós to “Powa” by tUnE-yArDs. Others songs might give insight simply by their titles — like “Sister” and “Dire Wolf.” Could this be in reference to Jon Snow and Dany actually being siblings? And what about Arya’s reunion with Nymeria? There’s also “Queen,” “Cruel,” and “Crown on the Ground,” which might just spell disaster for Cersei. Or could that be in reference to Dany?!
Listen to the playlist here, and try to figure out what it all might mean:
There are only six more episodes of Game of Thrones Season 7, so we’ll probably have to hold onto the playlist to get us through until the final season. But let’s not think about that, and instead just enjoy some Van Morrison.
