This newly released image from “Game of Thrones” is absolutely ICONIC

During the most recent episode of Game of Thrones, “The Queen’s Justice,” we saw two characters meet for the very first time. After seven seasons, Daenerys Stormborn of the House Targaryen, First of Her Name, the Unburnt, Queen of the Andals and the First Men, Khaleesi of the Great Grass Sea, Breaker of Chains, and Mother of Dragons finally met Jon Snow. It was everything we wanted it to be, and so much more, even though the two didn’t exactly get off on the right foot.

By the end of the episode, they had at least agreed to semi-friendly terms, as Dany’s going to give Jon the dragonglass he needs to fight off the White Walkers. However, it doesn’t look like he’ll be heading back North just yet, as Dany has, in a sense, taken him prisoner. In the teaser for “The Spoils of War,” we see that Jon and the rest of the crew still on the sands of Dragonstone.

Now, with some newly released Game of Thrones images from the upcoming episode, we know the whole gang’s still there — and they’ve assembled together in what is just a beautiful, breathtaking image.

Would it be weird to send this out as a Christmas card this year? “Happy Holidays from all of us in Westeros to you and yours!”

There’s no telling what they’re looking at or why they’re down on the beach, but everyone’s placement in this photo is very telling of who they are — and how much power they have. Clearly, Dany is at the front, since she’s established herself as the *most* powerful right now, dragons or no dragons. Just a few steps behind her is Tyrion, who has more power than we all realize, including his power to make up wise and profound quotes on the spot.

Who’s not standing next to Dany, or even second in this image, is Jon Snow. He’s in the background, because he’s a guest here at Dragonstone, and sure, he might be King of the North, but Dany has claim to the Iron Throne — for now. Eventually someone’s going to have to get around to telling him about his real dad, huh?

This is a truly iconic image, as we’re seeing everyone — Dany, Jon, Tyrion, Davos, Varys, and Missandei — in the same frame for the first time. Next stop, taking down Cersei, amirite??
