You probably missed this heartbreaking detail in the latest episode of “Game of Thrones,” and curse you, Boltons

While HBO’s epic series Game of Thrones is certainly known to shock and awe us — did you guys SEE that final fire battle on the ship? — sometimes where they really get us is in the details. The world of Westeros is huge and ever-expanding, but if you take a closer look at the things already nestled in each episode, they might make you gasp, cheer, or in this case, even cry.

As one Game of Thrones enthusiast pointed out on Reddit, there’s actually a super sad moment in “Stormborn” that we all completely missed. At first glance, it looks like nothing. But rewind 10 seconds on HBO Go, and you’ll realize that House Bolton left their slimy paws all over Winterfell.

The direwolf is the house sigil of the Starks, so there are a few stone direwolves around Winterfell. We’ve seen them before sitting outside the Winterfell crypt, a location that Jon Snow and Sansa frequently visit (both are oddly followed by Littlefinger, who is like, “I’m here to be all creepy in the shadows!”).

During this last episode, Reddit user Lardt notes that the once whole direwolves now appear to be missing their heads, and HOW DARE YOU BOLTONS.

It’s very hard to see, so we lightened up the image a bit:

Yup, there’s no denying it — those direwolves have lost their heads (just like Ned…too soon?) more than likely at the hands of Ramsay and his cronies. Let’s go ahead and add “new heads for direwolves” to Sansa’s to-do list.
