Brienne is just as weirded out by Tormund IRL as she is on “Game of Thrones”

For the past couple seasons of Game of Thrones, there’s been a real “will they, won’t they” sexual tension between two characters. And no, we’re not talking about Jon and Dany. We are, of course, talking about the budding relationship between Brienne (Gwendoline Christie) and Tormund (Kristofer Hivju).

And Christie just revealed that when the Game of Thrones cameras stop rolling, Hivju stays in character — which isn’t creepy at all.

Tormund has been sending some serious eye smolders at Brienne since they met on Game of Thrones. So far, it seems like most of the feelings on this ship are, um, one-sided. And if Tormund keeps up those creepy glances, it will likely stay that way.

What we didn’t know is that Hivju keeps up the behavior off set.

“He likes to continue being in character even off set, she explained on Late Night with Seth Meyers with a laugh. “He will start chewing a sandwich wildly at me…really kind of making love to that sandwich as he eyeballs me.

Considering that the script didn’t explicitly detail this relationship, Christie was shocked by the intensity.

“In the script, it simply said, ‘Tormund gives Brienne a look,' she said. “I was not expecting the power, the magnitude of sort of intense sexual intention to pour out of a man’s eyes and cover me.

Not gonna lie, the Brienne/Tormund relationship is one of our favorite parts of Game of Thrones. Let’s just hope we get more of the pair in Season 8.
