“Game of Thrones” CUT a scene that proves Brienne + Tormund is a thing

We are all currently sailing on the good ship Brienne and Tormund, long may they sail. It’s been made very clear on Game of Thrones that Tormund SUPER LIKES Brienne, while Brienne on the other hand isn’t quite that into Tormund. In two very grim episodes, their ~relationship~ has provided the only LOL moments. We love this pairing so, so much.

The lady behind Brienne herself, Gwendoline Christie, loves this pairing as well — SO YOU GUYS, she’s a Briemund/Torienne shipper, too! Talking to Entertainment Weekly after the episode, she explained that she loves the new dynamic that this will-they-won’t-they brings to the characters.

“I enjoyed Brienne being put in that position of feeling awkward and not wanting the attention,” she explains. “He’s a wildling, he’s very sensual and animal-like and very forthright with his emotions and feelings — which is really the opposite of [Brienne]. I enjoyed trying to navigate that and the beauty of her embarrassment. She can totally deal with the situation, and with him, but she’s just so embarrassed about it.”

Christie also spilled that somewhere out there, there’s a cut Game of Thrones scene where the crush is directly addressed! So far, the only thing between the two of them has been ~eyes~. Tormund is like HELL YEAH with his eyes, and Brienne is all like HELL NO. Until Sansa calls Brienne out on it.

According to Christie, in this magical deleted scene Sansa “[goes] Mean Girls” and begins teasing Brienne about it, and “you had the powerful warrior who’s totally flustered.”

Brienne? Flustered? What does that even LOOK LIKE? We need to see this scene, and we need to know why it was cut in the first place.

Sure, we’re supposed to be super focused on Jon Snow’s return from the dead and how he’s going to defeat Ramsay and stuff, but a bottle episode for just Brienne and Tormund would be PRETTY GREAT.
