Each year, us Game of Thrones fans anticipate the next season for months, guessing what might be coming in the episodes to follow. Then, all at once, we get hit with another swift season, just to be left reeling when it ends all over again.
If you’re looking for a way to get some Game of Thrones back into your life — in any way possible — then this audition reel, featuring some of the series’ most beloved characters, will fulfill your needs, at least for a little while.
As expected, the future cast members all crushed their auditions. Rose Leslie (Ygritte) saying, “You know nothing Jon Snow,” is life-giving. Natalie Dormer’s (Margaery) seduction skills are seriously off the charts. Sophie Turner (Sansa) and Maisie Williams (Arya) read the same scene, and although they haven’t met in person yet, it’s almost as if they’re in the same room together. Emilia Clarke’s range of acting skills are on point, although it’s clearly a screen test for another movie (Nerdist believes it was recorded for the film Belle) — those expressive eyebrows already making themselves known. And finally, Jason Mamoa’s test (Khal Drogo) — in which he does the haka, a traditional war challenge from the Māori people of New Zealand — is super intense (and pretty hot). Other appearances by Carice van Houton (Melissandre), Rory McCann (the Hound), and Tom Wlaschiha (Jaqen H’ghar).
