Gabrielle Union’s anti-aging tip is the best thing we’ve heard all week

As one of the most positive and hardworking women out there, we’re lucky to receive pearly nuggets of wisdom from Gabrielle Union on a regular basis!

In the March issue of Women’s Health magazine, Gabrielle Union shares her best anti-aging tip and we’re loving this no-nonsense advice.

According to Union, staying fit and healthy is actually pretty simple. “I have pretty oily skin, I drink a lot of water, I don’t smoke, and I don’t have a hard life,” she admits in the issue. That’s standard stuff that we’ve heard before (though it’s good to be reminded), but what’s the kicker?

"My best anti-aging tip is the ability to say no, no and hell no. We run ourselves ragged saying yes to every freaking thing, whether it’s to our family, spouses or careers. I sleep eight hours a day and don’t let myself stress out. A lot of people call it selfish, but I don’t have any wrinkles," she said.

We LOVE this!

And practice makes perfect, right?

via giphyYep, feels pretty good! Union’s words of advice are solid, because it’s hugely important not to work yourself into the ground, to get enough sleep, and to just take time out when you need it. That might be a specific time each week or day, or it might be something you plan more casually. However you do it, “me” time is critical for maintaining that work/life/friends/family/pets/play balance.

Union also talks about her family’s medical history, and how it’s encouraged her to be even more active in order to live her life to the fullest.

"I want to be a vital and energetic part of my family for a long time, not to be big mama in a rocking chair in the TV room, or huffing and puffing just going up stairs. I work out not because I get off on it, but because I want to live!"

via giphyThanks Gabrielle for inspiring us to say HELL NO whenever we feel like it, and to take good care of ourselves.

We’ve got this!
