FYI, spiked seltzer is now a thing

Seltzer is sooo great on its own — it’s a refreshing, bubbly drink for when you want carbonation without added calories and sweetness. It’s also a universally great mixer for cocktails, and is the basis of many of our favorite drinks. But we’ve never heard of seltzer that comes with alcohol in it already — until now.

Supposedly, it tastes JUST LIKE regular seltzer, but comes with less carbs and calories than beer, and these ~special~ seltzers come in fruity flavors like orange, cranberry, grapefruit and pomelo, lime, and pomegranate. Delicious! They clock in at about 5-6% alcohol, which is more than many light beers, and they sound more delicious, tbh. These sound the perfect summer drinks for lounging in the pool on a floaty with, while working on your tan and reading your fave summer book (but don’t forget your sunscreen!).

Four different companies are currently making spiked seltzer: Truly Spiked & Sparkling, White Claw Hard Seltzer, Nauti Seltzer, and SpikedSeltzer — which actually launched back in 2013, so props to them for coming up with it first, we see you. We bet more companies will be jumping on this trend soon, as it’s bound to take off. For now, these are your choices, and they seem like great ones, at that.
