It’s fully impossible not to smile through the Kacey Musgraves “Biscuits” video

Country singer Kacey Musgraves, who Fader recently lauded as “a millennial remaking country music to be more accepting,” is at it again, bringing her seemingly endless charm to the highly-anticipated music video for “Biscuits,” the first single off her new album, Pageant Material. In short: We love it. We love the boot scootin’, the twang, the dancing corn, and barnyard animals, light-up jackets, and old school variety show vibe.

As is always the case with Kacey’s music, we also 100% adore the song’s message: “Mind your own biscuits, and life will be gravy.” Great advice delivered in a beautiful (and delicious sounding) package. It’s also not too far a cry from the message in her breakout hit, “Follow Your Arrow,” which can basically be summed up in the lyric, “Follow your arrow/ Wherever it points.” Kacey’s music reminds us to be ourselves, and to let other people be themselves too. It’s just icing (or gravy) on the cake that the songs are also excellent and they’re written by Kacey herself.

Musgraves told BuzzFeed that she wanted the music video for “Biscuits” to be, “Hee Haw meets Pee Wee’s Playhouse meets Wes Anderson.” Mission accomplished.

Check out the super cute, technicolor, romp of a video below. And listen to Kacey’s advice! Woman is wise.
