This just in- the “Frozen” team is bringing us another fairy tale musical!!!

There are only so many times you can watch Frozen (and only so many times you can pick “Let It Go” as your karaoke song).  Robert Lopez and Kristen Anderson-Lopez (AKA the husband-wife songwriting team behind Frozen) totally get this, which is why they just announced that they are writing a BRAND NEW MUSICAL  for Disney. Also, in awesome news, Nathan Greno, who directed Tangled, will be helming the film.

Gigantic will be based on, yes, that’s right, you guessed it, Jack and the Beanstalk. However, just like Frozen took (awesome) artistic license with Hans Christen Andersen’s fairy tale The Snow Queen, Gigantic will also offer a brand-new take on the classic fairy tale.

“Set in Spain during the Age of Exploration, Gigantic follows adventure-seeker Jack as he discovers a world of giants hidden within the clouds,” Disney explains in the press release for the project. “Jack hatches a grand plan with Inma, a 60-foot-tall, 11-year-old girl, and agrees to help her find her way home. But he doesn’t account for her super-sized personality- and who knew giants were so down to earth?”

Eep! We can’t wait! Except we’re going to have to wait, because Gigantic won’t hit theaters until 2018. It’s okay, we can be patient. In the meantime we have Pixar’s The Good Dinosaur this Thanksgiving and Pixar’s Finding Dory summer of 2016, Moana Thanksgiving of 2016 and Toy Story 4 the summer of 2017, AKA lots of animated awesomeness to tide us over until we get our Gigantic on.
